How can I say what I need to say
I feel abandoned; I’ve lost my way
It’s been oh so hard to say goodbye
You are everywhere I cast my eye
I cannot question anyone’s pain
Only to do my best, try to explain
Losing not a life’s anchor, but two
Memories walked slowly, ere new
Goodbyes are nothing new to man
Something all should understand
The pressure and prodding grow
To for what end, only time knows
Harder I’m pushed, more I resist
It can last forever, do you insist
If I’m given time to say goodbye
I will work well, quickly, I’ll try
Think me in the dark, let me know
What is it makes you see me slow
When I’m able, I’ll meet your need
Just, please, give me time to grieve
