People Over Politics, World Over Wealth

We remember those who are gone,
and we honor those who remain.
All those who have lived so long,
who pray they did not live in vain.
Think now of those who served,
and those who have only waited,
to experience the horrors of war.
worse than any they anticipated.

What of those who are now called
to serve against fellow citizens?
Those who do not stand appalled,
travesties upon innocent civilians.
People who lost their compassion,
brutalize people we should shrive.
Do we obey agents in this fashion,
remember any who don’t survive?

Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,

Unite the World
