Angel Wings ~ Philip Brent Harris

I hear the birds singing throughout
the yard, the hall, as if they exist in
every space, every moment, as indeed
they do. Listen to their trills, their,
arpeggios, and crescendos. If only
I could understand their song, their
language of notes. So complex, we
only begin to hear them when we
slow them down. But what of the other
animals? Do they all have languages
we may kin if we can but find the speed
with which they’re rendered to our ears?
As if it were a massive angelic choir.
Have you heard the cricket angels?
