It’s Not the Same ~ Philip Brent Harris

I gave up being normal when I was just a kid.
It wasn’t something that I planned, just something that I did.
What others found to be correct made me flip my lid.
Do not bother trying to change me, I won’t accept your bid.

I watch our angry world spin round as we daily plod,
Commit heinous acts, break all the rules; don’t you think that odd?
Knowing we may end up a dust bunny or a crumbly clod,
We claim or blame most anything if done in the name of a god.

Now you may think me wrong, think crazy or a fool
Because I don’t agree with what you learned in your school.
I would rather be thought bonkers than be anybody’s tool.
I’ll strive my best to treat you well, without being mean or cruel.

Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment

Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,

Unite the World
