Water flows gently past you. The current is strong.
Boaters glide by and leaves dot the surface, caught
on tree roots, bushes, like swimmers stopping to rest.
Then swimming on. Ripped away, flailing, spinning.
Whirlpools briefly save them from thundering falls.
