Is it nature or is it art?
Nature is art on its own.
Sometimes we create
something exceptional
using nature and have
no reason we must atone.
Yet, other times we take
life with complete and
utter disregard and we
wonder why life’s hard.
I think we need to wander
in the woods, along the
shore and listen, truly
listen for the silence.
Realize all the noise we
make as if everything
belongs to only us and ours.
You, me, and everyone
we know and everyone
they know, and still more.
Where did we err today
and all days into the past?
How did it start, I wonder?
Someone, animal, being,
person born strong or weak
or somewhere in between,
so to speak. We may never
know; it may not matter.
Already too late to change
our lives. But we must reach;
forget petty quarrels. All
our guns and evil words
Step into the breach.
If I smile at you and you
smile for me, perhaps
in time we’ll all smile.
We must wait and see.
