From Seed to Tree ~ Philip Brent Harris

I witness many dead and dying trees
with neither leaf nor bud in late May.
What will happen when they finally fall
as part of nature’s endless circle of life?
Who will their carcasses feed, who ours?
Yet, be not afraid our time will come.
It’s the way the universe works after all.
Intellectually, we know we shall pass.
Can we imagine galaxies die, like trees?
For surely their time will come as well.
It’s happened already, a long way away.
Like a tree in a dense forest, fallen dead
Will rarely be noticed until after it dies.
Even then, its death will feed multitudes.
Minuscule life we only notice when it intrudes.

Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,
Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment 

Unite the World!
