Past, forgotten,

Rent, riven,
Rendered mute.
Memory shifts,
Slips, loose pebbles,
Hold your breath,
Rattle, clatter.
Hope, pray
Quaking, trembling,
Shifting sands
Cease moving.
Sound silences.
No babies laugh.
No ancient sages
Share ignored wisdom.
Until they
Themselves
Ignore their own
Truth and meaning.
Realizing, at the last,
We all do not
Follow the same path.
Yet seek
And find
The same
Destination.
