Colorful Encounter ~ Philip Brent Harris
Oh what a trial computers are, yet we cannot live without them.
Their bits, bytes, drivers, apps, to most, as magical as a unicorn.
Like people, get filled with junk, catch viruses like an alien BEM.
We try to tend them carefully, but in time they grow old, forlorn.
Like pets, love them, invest in their health until they’re near dead,
Yet, we replace them more quickly, our guide, our muse, our life.
Those of us who grew up without them, think them a trial instead.
We have survived without them, with the same dreams and strife.
Our world is joined now; we communicate faster than we travel,
Know folks in far-off lands, speaking languages we don’t know.
To see behind the curtain, so greed and power schemes unravel;
As it says in holy books, though not heaven, as above, so below.
