The call was loud and clear today,
The jackboots of Ares set to march.
Petty baboon pleader, a sullen fool.
Tear gas, storm troopers, photo ops
For ego strokes, pats his own back.
We must scream No, bottom to top
Take to the streets, for it must stop.

We must gather in peace and love,
Stop not only the killing, but also
Gainsay any who hijack the truth,
All corrupt leaders to the vandals,
Looters, who seek redress for pain,
For 400 years of fear and no hope.
If we can’t realize it, we’re insane.

This is no more right than all of the
Kidnapped men, women, children,
Taken from their lands, their home,
Those who loved and depended on
Them, whether stolen into slavery
Or into death, true anguish known.
Can’t change this; we must change.
