Why do people think peace implies boring sameness?
The cosmos where we live is composed of opposites.
We will never have everyone thinking the same way,
Nor would we ever even want to, if the truth be told.

But opposition is no way required  equal violence.
On, off, hot,cold and whatever you might imagine.
Nor must weapons, greed, intolerance lead to war.
Yet, when they do, destruction unimaginable occurs

Contemplating the long view, we’re simply children.
Our toys may end us, while, neither fate nor destiny.
Hope for peace may be a fool’s desire, just a dream;
Words alone will never end or save the test that’s us.

Small tribes helped us cope, prosper, survive safely.
Though as we grew these benefits began to dwindle.
Somehow, we enshrined the worst and lost the best.
Time we attempted  the opposite, just like all the rest.

Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,  Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment
