Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength, Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment

We must learn to recognize the walls of the world we were born into; see the story we have been told and the one we would choose. The story we have been told comes from family, friends and the society we have grown up in. It has been with us so long, we believe it is ours, and our only story. It holds us as tightly as any prison bars. Our story, the one we would choose, comes from deep within us and speaks to what is true, good and loving. Often, we must search for it like mythic treasure. We must dig deep, scribble down notes and clues, do whatever it is we feel comes from us. We should embellish what we find, not to make it bigger than it is, but to illustrate the edges, focus on the center, polish what we find until it glows, so we never lose sight of it. We must draw it, paint it, act it, sing it, dance it, build it out of the blocks of creation which reach for our hearts and hands, and not the ones for which we reach. In doing so, we will tear down our prison walls and find a path to a place no one has ever been.
