Certainty, it’s said, is fleeting.
It may vanish upon meeting
or offer you a warm greeting.

You hope it will last a lifetime.
pray it becomes your lifeline.
Most lose it, such a rife crime.

It’s ephemeral, so it’s precious,
though it can turn you vicious.
Believe it, it’s gone, suspicious.

Belief is no way true certainty,
yet, priests, gurus offer surety.
It may simply lead to insanity.

It’s a challenge, I’m retreating.
Where we go, is there seating?
I’ve heard certainty is fleeting.
