How can the simple be so exquisite?
Lovely in ways difficult to describe.
Echoes from the past, the present and
the future, found in our river of time.
Yet, sometimes our life comes to a halt.
Doesn’t the dam slow the river’s flow,
and create a large body of still water?
Still, forgotten too long as placid lake,
Does it risk then, becoming stagnant?
