into life’s sepulcher, you slow.
A temple arranged to receive, to
fete death, waits in rising smoke.
Incense, the zephyr of mourning.
We each speak our own tradition
in our own language. Only some
hear and only a few comprehend.
Raise your voices from beneath
the earth, the fundament, ground
of being and becoming, until you
push through, sprout a new plant.
