People Over Politics, World Over Wealth
Words about words, notes over notes
play together elucidating feeling. Yet,
joy and sorrow find a common vessel,
Oil and water. How can I convey my
meaning? Layering words, sounds to
startle, when life goes clomping through.
My garden of unusual hybrids; the plants
that are named, if only in name. All the
colors and scents, fantastic repose in
equal measure. Will you stay? Will
you walk away? Be patient, the way
you teach a child to clean their room,
to speak in their inside voice. Unless,
their spirit of play captures the piece
of you, forgotten until now. You giggle,
laugh, present again in the moment.
You run at them or away, as the mood’s
wisdom tells you what you should do.
Until, you can collapse together on
the floor, breathing hard, but happy.
