the greedy thieves. Indoctrinated early,
till they’ve lost any imagination, more
than lost for the no-longer known arts.

Magic, even that which exists, existed,
disguised as miracles or science so far
beyond the ken of mortal kith and kin.
Described as being either to bright, too
dark for eyes to perceive by sight alone.
