I Sit by the Side of the Trail

Fighting for breath but out in nature.
Dardanelles trail, which locals will know.
Walking here. Sometimes trees, sometimes no.
I watch grasses wave in the wind. Seeds and pods
still clinging. Trees sway more gently, Ones I see.
Other walkers come up the trail. I wonder
will they say hi to me? One said hello, after
I said hi first but that’s all right. Human
connection has been sparse, so even stranger’s
acknowledgement feel good. While I sit
by the trail, watch the meadow and woods.

I would have walked on, but I was struggling
for air, after being sick more than two weeks.
Breathing is sometimes difficult for me.
I refuse to give in and do what I can to get out
in the world and suck in the crisp, fresh air.
I know I’ll leave this mortal plane when
my time is up, though I won’t be gone.
You simply will not see me here. That’s just
the way life works, even if I don’t know
what comes next in this dance of omnipresence.
I will try to live life to the full and hope I
brought a smile, eased a burden, shared a little wisdom.

A very nice spiritual nature poem i enjoyed it quite a lot. Very complex painting? Are you in Turkey?
