I fell into a dream within a woodland
unaware of who I was or where I lay.
I didn’t know, was I awake or sleeping?
I felt protected, like floating on a cloud.
I gave myself to soft slumber’s keeping;
my heart then slowed, my head bowed.
I might learn, if I thought it mattered.
Fairies, I espy, sipping with the Hatter.
No. That comes from another’s seeing.
Drifted down a stream, a leaf my dhow.
Sweet song carried me, filled my being
with awe and wonder as I voyage now.
Dance your fingers in my imagination.
Love, you are air and fulfill of my soul
with a feeling I’ll recall until my death.
Déjà vu this love I know now, forever.
There’s no way I can adequately convey
this to you ‘less you’ve been and known.
