People Over Politics, World Over Wealth!
Love Birds ~ Phillip Brent Harris

In anther waiting room
in a hospital I’ve never
knew existed or cared to.
My darling’s surgery has
only just started, I think.
Another hour or two and
I will head for home, feed
the cat, don’t forget her water.
Feed myself, although I am
less worried about that.

Overnight, no visiting. Hard
for both of us, I know.
Nearly fifty years together,
though it feels like
much less time to me.
She freaked me out some
this morning, her way of coping
telling me where to find
passports, jewelry, safety
deposit key and the like.

I said, “You’ll be coming home.”
