At times, when I’m on a waiting list
I believe they believe I do not exist.
With COVID vaccines just as much.
It’s always up to me to keep in touch.

Eventually, it seems worth the wait.
Though I’m nervous, like a first date.
How about you, do you feel the same,
About to put your finger in the flame?

Until you deduce the flame is a light
To illuminate what you thought night.
Before you know it, the sun has risen.
You feel you’re released from prison.

When listing to starboard or to port
Chaos appears all we have to report.
Waiting lists are a long straight line.
A pain in the butt, but may work fine.
