Draining ~ Philip Brent Harris

I crawl along the floor, ever searching
for a word or two someone has dropped.
An argument, some words full of feeling
or, perhaps, a plea someone has copped.
Really, the leavings of anyone’s detritus.
Quicken seeds to prime my hungry brain.
Not just fuel, pervasive thought arthritis.
Salve any waning brilliance, ere it drains.
Seems I found some bits and bobs to use.
They are flowing from my pen even now.
Although, I think my input I must recuse.
Once again, my psyche showed me how.
