People Over Politics, World Over Wealth

Solemn and full of heart,
we walk through the garden,
remembering other times, and
gardens which came before.
Those who are but shadows,
memories made into shrines.
Holding on to what is gone,
ephemeral, difficult to grasp.
Though easy to twist into
new shapes; heroes or fools.
We must move on. Every
moment brings change,
perhaps so complete we don’t
remember what came before
our indrawn breath. The vast
space between notes. Every laugh
and every tear, until the world is
bathed in joy, immersed in sorrow.
When we understand we are the
same, then may we begin to live.
