My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the victims and families and the bombing at the Boston Marathon and all of those killed or injured in our recent wars, mass shootings, terrorist attacks and any other human-made disasters, murders, mayhem and the insanity that grows in the world daily. I would willingly take the blame for all of it, to be drugged, treated, institutionalized for life, if only it would allow us to wake up to the response of our animal brains, to resist it, and to grow into a sane, functioning world society. My only respite is to remember that we are less than a mote of dust, less than a microsecond of time when seen on the cosmic scale. Let us hope we are not a germ in the corpus of the universe.
