Staggering On in the Time of Covid

I feel like the pandemic and its aftermath have knocked the stuffing out of me, especially my creativity. Yet, I know my reaction, my response is controlled by me. Doesn’t that make it sound simple? Not only have I rarely darkened my studio door, but I also feel I have waged a subliminal war on myself by not cleaning it. While I’ve opted for a Faso website, mostly for its marketing aspects, I haven’t really done my part. Self-sabotage again? I’m not sure, but I think it’s possible.

Somewhere along the way, I lost my confidence. I believe evidence has shown me I’m a good painter, an artist and a good scribe. Yet, I’m back in my old space, where fear of rejection holds me back. I self-promote but I’m not sure why. I’ve considered shutting down my blog, which is separate from my Faso site, though accessible from there. I get so little response I’m not sure it’s worth the effort. WordPress support has been limited and they keep changing their platform in ways that are less functional for me.

Recently, I dropped the Fine Art America links from my posts, although I believe I have a better chance of selling something from those sites. I’ve left the link to my Vida site while I try to concentrate on the Faso site, combing my fine art, digital art and photography. I’m keeping the Vida site for the products, despite limited sales. There is something exciting about seeing my designs on scarves, clothing and housewares. Still, their support has been atrocious. Maybe I started too soon, before they had their act together.

Now, I fear I may have started too late. I’m still in the game and hope to succeed. Have you felt or do you feel this way. Give a shout and we can stagger on together.
